The story of Marina Pilibosian Bozabalian, GG, AJP, and her family is one of persistence in the face of great odds. Marina’s father is an Armenian jewelry designer who supported his family as a child when his father lost his vision in a work accident. At 17, he began working as a jewelry designer at the House of Chanel in France. When his sister in America became terminally ill, he left to be with her and started over, building Birmingham Jewelry in Michigan from the ground up with his wife, Reba, who is also a GIA alumni. Marina grew up watching her father create jewelry. After she met her husband, Ishkhan Bozabalian on a cruise in 2015, they fell in love, got married, and Ishkhan moved to Michigan to enter her family’s business with her. Together, Ishkhan and Marina studied at GIA where Marina obtained her GG and Graduate Pearls diplomas and Ishkhan studied Jewelry Design and Technology. Both also achieved Applied Jewelry Professional diplomas. Following in Marina's parents’ footsteps, this power couple continues the family legacy by making waves in the jewelry industry. They use their knowledge to sell and create stunning jewelry that help their clients celebrate life’s special moments. Courtesy: Birmingham Jewelry
